Disney's Wilderness Lodge

One definite perk that comes with living near Orlando,
is the opportunity to visit some of the
theme parks and hotels.
How fun to go for a meal and then stroll the properties
enjoying natural beauty and man's creativity.
~~~
It's been several years since we planned
such a relaxing date...
so last Friday we invited sweet friends to go with us
to the Wilderness Lodge which has a western theme,
complete with totem poles, geysers and a rock chimney
representing the rock strata of the Grand Canyon!
~~~
The interior photo is a bit dark and doesn't do the towering lobby
justice because it was an uncharacteristically
over cast morning and
I don't think my flash was working. =)

The backside of the Lodge forms a "U" surrounding a
waterfall and bubbling brook that lead
into the majestic pool.
Towering totems fill the very high lobby, punctuated with artistic
chandeliers reminiscent of tepees.

This "fall" leads from the center of the building
down to the pool.

Wild flowers adorn the brook's edge.

We had a wonderful breakfast and fun fellowship.
Evelyn, D and me.

D and my Tony, both of Italian heritage!

The trail leading to the parking lot.

Some "winged" beauties waving us on home!

Hope you enjoyed this brief glimpse of one of
Disney's fun resorts.
Have a blessed week!

  4. Hi Honey,
    That was a wonderful day! I remember when we were "upgraded" to the Wilderness Lodge because they were trying to get it booked when it first opened. We went from the PNW to Florida, only to feel like we were in the PNW. Love You.

  8. HI JESSICA,
    WE HAVE BEEN TO WILDERNESS LODGE ONCE WITH SOME FRIENDS. IT IS A LOVELY PLACE FOR SURE. WE HAD DINNER IN THERE, AND IT WAS SUCH A FUN
    PLACE. IF SOMEONE ASKED FOR KETCHUP THEY WOULD MAKE THEM RIDE A STICK PONY AROUND THE RESTAURANT, I HAVE TO SAY THAT MADE ME A BIT NERVOUS AND I WAS AFRAID TO ASK FOR ANYTHING JUST IN CASE!! LOL WE HAD SOMETHING CALLED THE CAMPFIRE DINNER OR SOMETHING AND WE ALL HAD THE SAME THING, CAN'T REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS, BUT I REMEMBER IT WAS GOOD.
    ALL THE DISNEY HOTELS ARE GREAT, ESPECIALLY AT CHRISTMAS AS YOU KNOW ALREADY!!
    ALL YOUR PICS WERE GREAT, SO PRETTY!!
    THANKS FOR COMING BY TODAY AND FOR ALL YOUR ENCOURAGING COMMENTS. SO GLAD YOU GOT TO TALK WITH KATIE AND SEE THE BABY, CAN'T BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN A MONTH ALREADY. HOW IS KATIE FEELING??? HOPEFULLY NOT OVERWHELMED!!

    IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO BOUNCE THINGS OFF A FRIEND, AND SHARE CLOTHING IDEAS AND DECORATING AND ALL THAT FUN GIRLY STUFF.
    FRIENDS ADD SUCH FLAVOR TO LIFE!!

    HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOUR KNEE, SURE HOPE IT IS BETTER, AND GLAD THINGS ARE GOING FAIRLY WELL WITH DERBY. JUST REMEMBER THEY ARE LIKE KIDS AND STAGES PASS QUICKLY.

    HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY, SEE YA TOMORROW HON,
    lOVE AND BLESSINGS, NELLIE
