Remembering...

Hi Mom,
It's been two years today that you stepped into Heaven.
I can't imagine the Glory you have witnessed
nor the Joy you have in Christ's presence!
Praise HIS Name.
~~~
I do remember those difficult last weeks though,
helping you as cancer made it's final stand.
~~~
You were brave and trusting,
as God alone was in control.
~~~
What a bitter honor to care for you
until your last breath,
a privilege I will always treasure.
~~~
Thank you for teaching me to appreciate
ALL the beauty in this world.
The mountains, and oceans,
the sunsets and beaches of a lifetime.
Even fountains and landscaping,
and most of all...
a child's innocent smile.
~~~
You were always engaging children
where ever you went.
And how you delighted in your own grandbabies!
How precious that our Loving Heavenly Father
gave you a Great Grand ~ Amos,
before you passed into His Reward.
I know there are many things you would have
done differently if you had the chance,
and even in this, you are my teacher.
~~~
I love you Mom and I'll see you soon.
Looking forward to walking with you in Paradise,
side by side,
hand in hand
and heart to heart.
~~~
Your Jessica Cherie
  1. Words can't express how touched I am to read your beautiful writing today in honor of your Mom. I'm so blessed to have known her, if even just a few short visits. I'll always remember our pancake breakfast 3 years ago at that little park that you took us to...what fun! And the walk on that little trail as you & your Mom walked hand in hand. What a glorious reunion it will be when we see our loved ones again in Paradise someday...and to walk hand in hand again. May ALL our loved ones accept God's gift of salvation by trusting Him alone as our Savior....as we learn to walk with Him. Oh, that reminds me of Janet Hitchman's poem, "The Walk".....she says, "Thank You, Lord, for all the walks we've taken together, where You have renewed my mind, picked me up, and helped me conquer my fears. Thank You for taking my hand, asking only that I trust in You. Amen."
  2. Oh Jess, What a precious rememberance of your Mom. Wonder if our Moms have met yet!! I know they are dancing in His presence just as we will and oh what a glorious day that will be when we reunite with them in the presence of the King.
    May God's peace warm your heart during this time of reflection. You honor your Mom so beautifully, and that is a joy to behold!
    Love you much,
    Beck
  3. Oh Jess...Sounds like your mom was such a lovely lady. I know it gives you peace to know she is walking on the streets of gold. Woooo Hoooo, won't that be a glorious day. I know it must be hard to not have her here with you anymore, but I am thankful that you all had a great relationship and that she raised such a wonderful gal as yourself.
    Hugs,
    Tara
  4. Dear Jess, The first thing I thought was how much you look like your mom. What sweet memories, some bittersweet, but we hold onto all of them. I was able to hospice my dear sister(like a mom to me)during her final stages and was once told it was a gift to be allowed to do that and I didn't understand it until it was over and now I can say, yes it is a gift to be there until the end. Hugging you through cyberspace today.
  6. It was good to step into your circle of memories for a few moments...Contemplating eternity with Jesus puts things into a healthier perspective, and your post helped me do that! Your mother is a beautiful woman and it sounds like you are wearing her "heart prints" well in her absence.
  7. What a lovely tribute to your mom. Oh my goodness, you look so much like her!! It was 2 years for my dad on March 27. So I know a little of how you are feeling. Isn't it wonderful though that these anniversaries fall at the Easter season, renewing our hope again, really our assurance, that we will see our loved ones again in that beautiful place where all is light. Have a blessed Easter.
