It was written on a simple index card.
There, sitting on top of my seat was the timeless message of Hope. No fancy computer font needed, just a sentence handwritten in black ink that has stayed with me for 20 years...
What a blessing that when I am feeling weak and afraid, this precious slogan comes to mind and I can choose to rest in the LORD.
For GOD has said:
"Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5
And the Apostle Paul wrote about the LORD:
"He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'"
2 Corinthians 12:9
Since we are not alone, and don't have to depend on our own strength, let's REJOICE...
because GOD is Good all the time! Amen.

Wow, I like that. I need to write that on a poster! So many things I must surrender to Him. He alone can bless the mess I have made of things!
ReplyDeleteHi! Jess, Oh! yes those little messages that just pop up! Love the encouragement! In fact I have still got a scripture that I put on a Bright index card on my dash! It just needs to stay there, I'm doing a lot of those notes lately. It really helps to keep my mind on the promises of God! Have a happy:) wk-end!
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica,
ReplyDeleteOh how true, for this we have Jesus!! That is a great note and a smart woman that gave it to you.
Reminds me of the book by Billy Graham's daughter,
Just give me Jesus. We are so needy of Him, but sometimes just so unaware of it, and forgetful of the fact we can call on Him anytime, any place and
He will hear our cry for help.
Thanks for coming by yesterday and for your sweet empathy, we are really getting some
testing!! lol
But God continues to be good in spite of it all.
We serve a mighty God who loves us more than we can ever imagine. Life can't get much better than that!!
Have a great weekend, I am off to help Jim mow that lawn, since we finally have some time to do it. Not our fave time I have to say!! lol
love ya, Nellie
Jesus is all the world to me--my life, my joy, my all.
ReplyDeleteHe is my strength from day to day; without Him I would fall.
When I am sad, to Him I go;
No other one can cheer me so.
When I am sad, He makes me glad!
He's my Friend.
These are words to one of my favorite old gospel songs. Your "for this I have Jesus" sentence made me think of it.
Ah, yes, so true....For this I have Jesus. In all of our trials we have Jesus. In all of our victories we have Jesus. In ALL things, we have Jesus. He is our ALL.
ReplyDeleteLove you, sweet friend.
As always, enjoying your posts. :)
Amen! He is our all in all!
