Maybe it's because there have been so many birthdays in my family lately.
Maybe it's because MY birthday is just 2 months away.
For whatever reason, my mind has been distracted lately
by the inevitable process of aging.
Have you noticed, that among all the places on a human face where wrinkles cut a path,
a fascinating place is right next to the ear?
I first noticed these "ear-side" wrinkles on my father's face, then on my husband's dear face, and now alas, I see tell-tale lines on my own!
I don't know about you, but when it comes to aging, I try to keep a stiff upper lip! LOL
So I've chosen to classify such "ear-side" wrinkles as
LONGEVITY RINGS ~
Much like a tree's age is estimated by the number of rings observed in a cross section of it's trunk, these half rings around the ear evidence the blessing of a long life!
May our days be filled with wisdom as we learn about GOD and follow the LORD's leading. May the twinkle in our eyes and the fragrance of Christ continually broadcast the beauty of Eternal LIFE no matter how wrinkled our earth suits get!

ReplyDeleteI look at it this way, we have earned these wrinkles, and along with them has come more wisdom, so what we have lost in aging we have gained so much more in wisdom.

Every once in a while I still get a zit, like recently. Now how can wrinkles and zits co-exist on the same face? LOL!
